Why We Can Have A Personal Relationship With Jesus

1. In the last lesson we discovered that Jesus is friend that is worth having

  1. Jesus wants for us to have a personal relationship with Him

Why We Can Have a Personal Relationship With Jesus

  1. Jesus has chosen us

John 15:16

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

  1. By receiving Jesus a person then gets separated from the world

  2. By separating from the world and trusting in Jesus prosperity comes into your life

Psalms 37:4-5

Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

  1. This is all because of Him choosing you

  2. Why is it significant that Jesus said, “I chose you?”

  3. When Jesus said to the disciples come follow me. Their chose was a response not an initiative

  1. Jesus wants to spend time with us

Revelation 3:20

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

  1. What does it mean when Jesus say that he wants to eat with You?

  2. People usually go out together because they like each other and want to spend time together

  3. They usually go out to get away from distractions and explore in-depth conversation

  4. Two means of communication with Jesus is through prayer and the bible (Word)

  1. Jesus never leaves us

Hebrews 13:5

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

  1. How do you respond to the promise that Jesus will never leave us?

Luke 8:22-25

Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. 23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. 25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

  1. No matter what you are going through Jesus, because of our response to making Him our friend will always be there for you no matter what.

  2. In conclusion

    1. Jesus has chosen us

    2. Jesus wants to spend time with us

    3. Jesus will never leave us
