Step Three

Made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God through His Son Jesus Christ and with the help of the Holy Spirit.

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:  that thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days. Deuteronomy 30:19-20

This step is the most important step in the 12 step program. God shows us in His word that we have a free will and we are not controlled by Him. God is asking us to make a decision to choose which we would rather have, life or death, blessing or cursing, then He tells us that it would be better for us to choose life. By choosing life is accepting Jesus Christ. Jesus says:

Jesus saith unto him,I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

There are only two ways to go in life, the way of life or the way of death, are you ready to choose life, and surrender yourself over to care of Jesus Christ? There is a story in the Bible about a man with a problem and decided to turn to Jesus.

And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,  and cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. Mark 5:2-8

Here is a man with big big problems. His problems are causing him to be homeless, he is living as a dead man, with no hope, no enjoyment, no future. He shows that he is discouraged and depressed. The depression is causing him to bring pain to himself. But through all the pain and suffering  he still had faith, and he shows it by when he saw Jesus afar off he still turned to Him and surrendered himself. By him surrendering his will and life over to the care of Jesus Christ, he received a healing. Paul tells us in the word:

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:9-10,13

Here is your chance to turn your life around just as the man in the story did. Maybe you are like this man, he saw Jesus from afar off; meaning that he didn't have a close relationship with Jesus, even if you don't have a close relationship with Jesus, all you have to do is call unto Him for he loves you, the word tells us:

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

Jesus loves you so much that the word tells us :

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:4-5

Grief and sorrow means sickness and pain. Jesus carried all your sickness and pain on that wooden cross. God tells us:

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee. Jeremiah 1:5

This means that when Jesus was suspended on that cross between heaven and hell, and all the pain and sorrow that was in the world on him, the only thing that was on His mind at the time was you. So accept today what Jesus has done for you, and don't let His crucifixion go in vain. God tells us:

Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. Malachi 3:8

It's time to turn your life and will over to the care of Jesus Christ, and accept your healing.
